Good Works Team

March 18, 2010

 

The Outreach Ministries Team met at the church March 18, 2010.  Charles Curry, Chairman opened the meeting followed by devotions led by Donna Botkin.

Sue Floyd reviewed minutes from the February meeting.

Ministry reports from Coordinators present were as follows: 

      Senior Ministries:  Donna Botkin, Coordinator reported they will be setting up a visitation day (time & day to be announced) to visit Seniors.

      Religious Education Ministries:  Barbara Michael, Coordinator reported that six volunteer names were turned in to help at North River Elementary during lunch.

      Singing Ministries:  Martha Vogely reported that she and Betty will set up music groups for the 5th Sunday of May, August and October.

      Inspirational Fellowship Ministries:  Sue Floyd, Coordinator reported that her committee would be meeting on Tuesday evening, March 23 to plan for their L.I.F.T.  program for November 13, 2010.

      Children's Ministries:  There will be a lunch after church on Sunday, March 21, followed by an Easter egg hunt.

      Recreational Fellowship Ministries:  Delton Botkin, Coordinator reported that he had called North River and talked to the Principal, Kathyrn Ralston.  She will meet with Charles Curry to set up procedures, activity dates and times.

     Travel Ministries:  Charles Curry, Coordinator reported they have gotten 32 responses for the scheduled trip to Lancaster for June 26, 2010.  The bus will hold 55.

     Mission Education:  Pastor Glen Langston, Coordinator, reported that Ron Roby signed up two children to attend Camp Overlook this summer.  Jeannie Arehart will be our Camp Ambassador.

The following ideas were suggested:   Get larger candles for Worship service.  Purchase cards and put out front for members to pick up to send to someone mentioned during Church services.

Future Outreach Team meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday every other month beginning May 10, 2010.  Ruthie Snyder will lead devotions for May.
