Outreach Ministries
(formally The Good Works Team)
Mission: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
Purpose: To study current, prospective, and preferred outreach ministries and make recommendations for future outreach ministries at Parnassus United Methodist Church
Meeting Structure: 2nd Monday, every other month
Current Situation: There is a significant financial commitment of nearly $12,000 each year going to support human needs in our community and throughout the world. Perhaps there are other good works that we would like to address over the next several years. We will identify community needs, the priorities of the congregation, and propose an action plan. Our testimony and witness as a Church may best be recognized by our good works.
Assumptions: Doing "Good Works" is one of the primary responsibilities of a church. Progressive, growing churches are alive with major programs of outreach ministry. People prefer to associate with churches that are engaged in doing "Good Works."
