Opportunities and Activities at Parnassus UMC
Ø Christianity 101 meets on the second, fourth, and fifth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. to examine God’s message contained in the Holy Bible. Next class will be October 27th, during which we will continue to look at the Book of Isaiah.
Ø Youth Events: TODAY! Youth Fall Party after church. Youth Christmas Party on November 28th. Bring a covered dish for lunch. The meat & drinks are provided.
Ø Ministry takes on Visitation! Next visitation day: Monday, October 25th .
The Outreach Senior Ministries Committee invites you to join in the visitation of older adults of the Church family. We will meet at the church at 10:00 a.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, go out in teams of two, and make one or two brief visits. A schedule for visitations is posted in the narthex. You may add names of someone who would like/need to be visited. Contact: Donna Rae Botkin (337-8538).
Ø Ladies Inspirational Fellowship Time (L.I.F.T.). Nov. 13, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sangerville-Towers Ruritan Hall. Open to all women. $10 (inc. Continental breakfast & Potato Bar lunch). No pre-registration. More info, call Sue Floyd (350-2542).
Ø Christmas Spectacular! Our Travel Ministry is organizing a trip to Lynchburg on December 11th. The bus, the show and dinner is $50 apiece. The bus will leave the church at 9:00 a.m. and return by 9:00 p.m. Contact: Charles Curry 350-2535.
Ø Artisans need Ideas! The Artisans’ Ministry is looking for ideas of things to make for next year’s Lawn Party. If you see a picture of something or can describe your idea, please put in the ‘Idea Box’ in the Narthex. Contact: Padi Burtner (350-2559)
Ø Need Cards? Cards for all occasions are available in the narthex if you would like to send a note to someone on your mind. Donation of cards is welcome. Please add them to the pile.
Ø Sunday Lunch Bunch. Each Sunday a group of worshippers gather at a local restaurant for dinner and fellowship. ALL are welcome to join us. If you would like to join us see Richard Rhodes or Delton Botkin before or after worship.
